The 2007 Weblog Awards

I never expected it to happen, but it did. The Presurfer has been announced as a finalist for The 2007 Weblog Awards in the category 'Best Blog.' Voting is scheduled to begin Thursday evening (late), but the organizers can't yet pinpoint the exact time polls will open. Check back here for updates on poll openings.

I have no illusions on winning this because the competition I am facing is very strong. The other 11 finalists are Michelle Malkin, Huffington Post, RawStory, TechCrunch, TownHall, Andrew Sullivan, Captain's Quarters, Gawker, PostSecret, The Moderate Voice, and Boing Boing. I consider being a finalist a great honor as such.

It was Presurfer reader Mike who nominated me for this award. Thank you, Mike!

update: The number of finalists has been reduced from 12 to 10. Here are the 10 finalist: The Presurfer, Michelle Malkin, Huffington Post, RawStory, TownHall, Andrew Sullivan, Captain's Quarters, Gawker, PostSecret, and Boing Boing.
