The most beautiful and the most visited flower garden in the world is Keukenhof Gardens here in the Netherlands. It's a 70-acre showcase for the Dutch flower industry. Visitors can see a changing display of more than 7 million flowers - including some 1,000 varieties of tulips alone.
Where Keukenhof is situated now, was a hunting area in the 15th century. Herbs for the kitchen of the castle of Jacoba of Bavaria were also collected here; hence the name Keukenhof (keuken = kitchen, hof = garden).
