Incredible GPS Rescue Stories
In August 2001, a story of sheer determination, willpower and the kind of luck that comes only when everything works in sync with the powers that be unfolded when a mountain clumber in Pakistan was miraculously snatched from the jaws of almost certain death by modern technology.
After enduring three grueling nights exposed to the elements of the high elevation of K2, Norit expedition leader, Dutch Wilco Van Rooijen was found thanks to the Thuraya GPS system.
