
The Han Chinese are the largest ethnic group, with 1,2 billion people, or 91.59% of the population of China. Besides the majority Han Chinese, China recognizes 55 other 'nationalities' or ethnic groups, numbering approximately 105 million persons.
Photographer Chen Hai Wen led a team of 14 professional photographers to make a family portrait of all 56 nationalities in China. Pictured above are the Yi people.
