The Furby Is Back

Furby is back! The must-have toy of 1998 will return this holiday season. Hasbro is re-launching the furry character for the digital age, with apps, new sensors and more. You may remember Furby from his first incarnation, the chatty five-inch-tall robot that found its way under countless Christmas trees in the late '90s. Furby was equipped with robotic eyes and ears, simple sensors and the ability to speak.

The new Furby takes the idea of a talking electronic sidekick to a new level: Covered in blue-green fur, its body is more active, with the ability to wiggle its ears and dance. In an interesting design choice, Hasbro opted to replace Furby's classic white eyes with LCDs.

Monopoly Properties Based On Today's Market Values

We were both renters and landlords, we fought over who could be the 'car' and we hid stashes of $100s under the board. Monopoly took hold on generations as one of the most famous board games in the world.

Wouldn't it be fun to put on a top hat or thimble and take a spin around the board to revisit the properties that made up Monopoly. And try and make comparisons between the properties that Monopoly was originally based on and those same properties as they exist today. Some interesting tidbits and some surprises, too.

Injury Auction

Spencers Solicitors in the UK have launched a microsite that aims to draw attention to the practice of personal injury cases being regularly auctioned off to the highest bidder by insurance companies. For years, insurers have been selling personal injury cases to solicitors for 'referral fees,' essentially a commission which lawyers must pay to represent individual claimants.

Injury Auction includes additional information and an interactive game where you get to throw auction hammers at the bidders, all designed to shine the spotlight on how the system works and encouraging consumers to challenge their insurer to end the practice immediately.

Forty Thieves Solitaire

Forty Thieves Solitaire is a game by Mark Klocek. The goal of the game is to move all the cards to the 8 foundation piles located in the upper right corner. The foundation piles are built in suit in an ascending order from Ace to King. You can use the middle 10 piles to hold the cards temporarily while you build up the cards in the foundation piles.

You may only move one card at a time, and you can only move a card to another pile if it is one lower and in the same suit. If you cannot make a move you can turn over a new card by clicking on the facedown deck in the top left of the game screen. You will have to restart if you have used all the stock cards and cannot put all the cards on the foundation.

The Secrets Of Field Sobriety Tests

Have you been drinking tonight, sir? Oh. Crap. If you're in a car, that's not a question you want to hear from a man in uniform. And if the answer is yes, you're in for the worst pop quiz of your life: the field sobriety test. You should not drive drunk.

The goal of this piece is not to show you how to beat a field sobriety test. In most cases, no amount of preparation can help you anyway. But they make for one hell of a drinking game. Try 'em out for yourself, from the comfort and jail-free safety of you own home. May the best drunk win!
